Ron’s practice is concentrated in the areas of local units of government and labor relations. Ron represents numerous municipalities throughout the western half of Michigan’s lower peninsula. He has extensive experience in advising legislative bodies, planning commissions, and zoning boards of appeal. In representing local units of government, Ron provides a full array of services, including advice on contracts, intergovernmental relations, land transfers, governmental powers and authority, land use and zoning, utilities, and millage matters. In the area of labor relations, Ron represents both private and public sector employers. He has extensive experience in collective bargaining negotiations, grievance and interest arbitrations, unfair labor practice hearings, wage-hour matters, discrimination and harassment matters, discharge and discipline matters, and unemployment matters. Ron has received from Martindale-Hubbell®, the highest AV Preeminent peer review rating.  In addition, Ron has been Scholten Fant’s executive committee chairperson for many years.
