Ryan focuses his practice on all aspects of business, tax law and estate planning, as well as real estate and environmental matters. Ryan advises closely-held businesses throughout West Michigan in addition to attending to the numerous legal issues facing the individuals who own those businesses.

Ryan was born and raised in West Michigan. After law school, he practiced as a corporate and securities associate with a large law firm in Philadelphia for two years before returning home to West Michigan and joining Scholten Fant.
