Areas of emphasis/expertise:
Ron's expertise is concentrated in the areas of local units of government and labor relations. Ron represents numerous municipalities, particularly townships, throughout the western half of Michigan's lower peninsula. He has extensive experience in advising legislative bodies, planning commissions, and zoning boards of appeal. In representing local units of government, Ron provides a full array of services, including advice on contracts, intergovernmental relations, land transfers, governmental powers and authority, land use and zoning, utilities, millage matters, etc. In the area of labor relations, Ron represents both private and public sector employers. He has extensive experience in collective bargaining negotiations, grievance and interest arbitrations, unfair labor practice hearings, wage-hour matters, discrimination matters, discharge and discipline matters, and unemployment matters. In addition, Ron has been the managing shareholder and Chairperson of the Executive Committee of Scholten Fant for many years.

Personal:
Ron and his wife Cheri have four children. Some of his favorite non-work time is spent with them and their activities. Other off-work hours are spent working out at the YMCA, taking long distance bicycle rides, and volunteering at his local church.
