Areas of emphasis/expertise:
Doug has experience in all areas of family law including divorce,
custody and parenting time, child and spousal support, paternity, guardianship,
step-parent adoption and representation of parents in child protective proceedings.
He also provides representation in general civil litigation, including wrongful
termination of employment, and in defending against criminal charges.

Professional Activities:
After graduation from law school, Doug clerked for the Honorable
George R. Corsiglia of the 48th Judicial Circuit Court in Allegan, Michigan.
Before joining Scholten Fant, Doug practiced law as a sole practitioner
and a referee for the Family Division of the Ottawa County Circuit Court.
He joined Scholten Fant in the year 2000.
Personal:
Doug lives with his wife and three daughters in Holland. He and
his family are members of the 14th Street Christian Reformed Church.
