Areas of emphasis/expertise:
Randy is a major factor in the courtroom and on the court. Randy
has been in legal practice since 1972 and he has been with Scholten Fant
for seven years. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State
Bar of Michigan and the Ottawa County Bar Association. Randy is admitted
in all state courts, the Federal District Courts of Michigan and Northern
Indiana, and the Supreme Court of the United States. His expertise extends
to the areas of Family Law, Real Estate and Condominiums, and as the trained Family Law Mediator.
An advancing trend in the family law area is the use of private mediation for couples, with or without the assistance of
their own attorneys, to attempt to help the parties resolve their differences through mediation. Randy offers to help
bring parties together in a resolution which they have crafted without the necessity of a court battle and the risk of an
otherwise unwanted result.

Personal:
When not working as a lawyer, Randy is generally found in the
gym. Having coached in many different areas, he is a lifetime member of
the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan. The Girls Varsity Basketball
coach at Spring Lake High School from 1985-1990, Randy is now an assistant
coach for the boy’s basketball team at Spring Lake.
